EPLS Spanish Phrase Guides for Firefighers and Paramedics. EPLS has broken through hard-to-handle language pronunciation by isolating vowel sounds and assigning a specific, non-changing symbol to that sound. The system is Fun, Fast and Easy to Use. The same basic Vowel Symbol System is used in all EPLS products. When these symbols are used in conjunction with consonants and read normally, pronunciation of even the most difficult foreign word is EASY! Lack of knowledge of a foreign language can be detrimental for emergency-service workders who are unable to communicate with sick or injured people. The fire guides were developed with the help of county fire departments. Phrases are set up in directives such as "Stay Back", "I am a firefighter", or "I am going to take your blood pressure".
